Local towns include Princes Risborough, Wendover, Chinnor, Amersham, High Wycombe, Thame and Aylesbury, with the larger towns of Milton Keynes, Reading, Oxford and London less than an hour's journey away. Good transport links mean the M40, M25 and M1 are easily accessible with Heathrow and Luton airports generally less than an hour's drive, and Gatwick around an hour and a half away. Chiltern Railways run between Birmingham and London via Princes Risborough.

The Chilterns area has been a favoured region for film and television companies for many years, attracted by the wealth of beautiful and accessible locations, for many years. Scenes from films such as the Harry Potter and Bond series of films plus The Duchess, Johnny English, Sleepy Hollow, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Mansfield Park have been filmed locally as have TV series such as Cranford, Lark Rise to Candleford, Morse, Midsomer Murders and the Vicar of Dibley. In just a short drive, visit the Oxford locations where 'Morse' was filmed, have lunch in the Shoulder of Mutton where the cast of several Bond films stayed and visit the Church in the village of Turville (Dibley), where The lady Vicar charmed her parishioners.

Whether you're looking for a small and friendly pub, a contemporary dining room, a riverside restaurant or a tea shop, there are plenty to choose from.

Activities include golf, riding, walking, cycling, sightseeing, visiting historic homes and castles, museums, shopping, theatres and more. On the other hand, you might just want to soak up the beautiful scenery and relax!
